As a voluntary aided Catholic School Religious Education, Collective Worship and Liturgy is an integral part of school life. Our faith permeates all aspects of school life. We believe that links between home, school and parish are vital to provide a broad and balanced education for all our children.
Prayer and worship are central to our life in school. Our Parish Priest Fr. Desmond regularly celebrates mass in school and we attend mass in church as well. Our infant pupils take part in liturgies too. In addition, we celebrate whole school masses at the beginning and end of each term, on Holy days of Obligation and on other significant occasions.
Collective worship takes place daily, either as assemblies, themed on the liturgical year, in key stage groups, as prayers in class or as individuals.
At St. Mary’s we follow the ‘Come and See’ RE syllabus but take advantage of opportunities
to teach RE through cross-
